Other utilities than may be of interest

There's a hodge-podge of other utilities that people may find of interest. All of them, like this one, were written because at some point I was trying to deal with an issue annoying enough for me to write my own utility after not finding something I liked on the web.

The complete list is here:

Network Drive Control

Have Windows default mapping of network drives be network dependent.

Network Printer Control

Allows you to assign different default printers to different networks. This is the "old way" Windows used to work. Starting aroundWindows 8, Windows started assigning the default printer to the last printer used on a network, which can be very annoying.

DNS Cache Viewer

The purpose of DCV is to allow you to view what Windows has in it's local DNS Cache, and allow you to flush it if you want.

Windows Logon Message Editor

This is a simple "one trick pony" utility to allow one to easily change the logon message on a Windows system.

Free Space Wipe

Fairly stripped down free space wiper that is limited by the drive or interface speed rather than the software.

The Classic Super Star Trek Game (1970's-1980's)

The original classic PDP-11/34 FORTRAN version of Super Star Trek was written around 1975, I believe by David Matuszek & Paul Reynolds with modifications by Don Smith. This is a specific DOS implementation was written by me in graduate school in 1983 to emulate that PDP-11/34 FORTRAN version, later expanded in the 1980's. I had access to the PDP-11/34 FORTRAN code & yes, I used to program in FORTRAN in the '70's. Runs in any version of Windows from Windows 95 through Windows 10.
