Welcome
DNS Cache Viewer (DCV) for Windows XP, VISTA, 7, 8 & 10, both 32-bit & 64-bit, is utility to allow one to get a quick look at your PC's DNS cache. The Domain Name System (DNS) is the distributed server system that translates domain names, like google.com, into IP addressees that your computer uses to communicate over the internet.
DNS Cache Viewer provides the same information about the Windows DNS cache as you can get by querying the Windows DNS cache via an ipconfig /displaydns command in an command line window, only it displays the data in an easier to absorb manner. In addition, DNS Cache Viewer allows the user to push a button and flush the DNS cache similar to how one can do it in a command line window with the ipconfig /flushdns command. In fact, behind the scenes, DNS Cache Viewer is issuing these commands to Windows, getting the information back, and reformatting & translating it, and displaying it for your viewing. (i.e. DNS Cache Viewer is a wrapper program for a subset of ipconfig commands.)
